Unlikemost Tineco devices,ce modèle n’offre pas de solution de nettoyage. And for good reason, no detergent should be added to the clean water tank, not evenproducts for vacuum cleaners specially designed for! Even if the device is equipped with ananti-limescale system, it is preferable to use demineralized water, especially if the water in your area is hard.

After attaching the grip to the body of the device, the first impression is that the Tineco S7 Steam is quite heavy. And for good reason, its weight is around 5kg. However, it is easily maneuverable, thanks to itsautomatic self-propulsion in forward direction.

Cleaning modes

The Tineco S7 Steam offers 4 operating modes:

  • AUTO mode: automatic detection and adjustment of power according to the degree of soiling
  • STEAM mode : nettoyage profond de la surface
  • AMPLIFIED STEAM mode: deep disinfection of the floor and areas prone to bacteria
  • ASPIRATION mode : absorption d’eau seule (s’active seulement par l’application)

Note that the vacuum cleaner should only suck up water, not dry dirt. It is also prohibited to use it on rugs and carpets. If you are looking for a wet and dry vacuum cleaner, theThomas Aqua + Pet vacuum cleaner will probably be your best compromise.

In addition of these 4 operating modes, we find the practical characteristics that Tineco offers on most of its devices.iLoop sensors to detect dirt on the ground, parking function, voice indications, self-cleaning and drying of the roller brush, LED digital display with indicators, connectivity via mobile application, LED lights on the vacuum cleaner head… And many other options!

Enfin, the handle of the device has 4 buttons: one to start or turn off the vacuum cleaner, one to change mode, one to perform self-cleaning and a final button to activate wifi/mute the sound/change the language.

Power, autonomy, steam mode and tank capacity

The S7 Steam is || |710240w de puissance thanks to its lithium battery. A slightly higher power than theTineco Floor One S7 Pro, with 230w on the meter.

You will benefit from40 minutes of autonomy in auto and suction mode, for total cleaning of the surface and without interruption. For the 2 steam modes, the autonomy of the device is 20 minutes, justified by atemperature reaching 140°C. This energy-intensive steam function aims to remove dirt from the floor and thoroughly disinfect surfaces. It also allowsecological and economical maintenance, with the only cleaning agent: water!

Note that adding hot water in the clean water tank is prohibited. It is the Tineco S7 Steam which will be responsible for heating the water and transforming it into steam.

The water tanks of the Tineco S7 Steam each offer large capacities for nettoyer les surfaces jusqu’à 200m²: the clean water tank can hold up to 800ml and the dirty water tank 720ml. These capacities are similar to the brand's latest models, such as the S7 combo or the Tineco S7 Pro.

Floor care, charging station and self-cleaning of the Tineco S7 Steam

The roller brush of the Tineco S7 Steam rotates at a speed of 450rpm for deep cleaning, without being abrasive. Its design is ideal for smooth, non-rough surfaces.

Once cleaning is complete, the device will notify you that it is time to perform self-cleaning. A very practical function, which is very often found on Tineco vacuum cleaners.

Simply place the device on its charging base and press the automatic cleaning button. Then water will be sprayed on the brush to clean it, then the waste water will be collected into the waste water tank. Finally, the brush will be thoroughly disinfected and 99.9% of bacteria will be eliminated by the steam cleaning process. After the automatic cleaning is completed, the roller brush will be dried through the process ofcentrifuged air drying.

For deep cleaning of the brush roller, it can be removed by pressing the clip to the right of the brush head. Finally, thecharging time of the device is approximately 4 to 5 hours, like most vacuum cleaners on the market.

Tineco S7 Steam: Our test and opinion on different stains

Discover without further delay our complete test of the Tineco S7 Steam to assess its effectiveness against stubborn stains!

Test of the Tineco S7 Steam: A effective steam mode?

The test was carried out on 4 types of wet and dry stains, spread three hours before cleaning:tomato sauce, agave syrup, black marker and lipstick.

photo-test-tineco-steam-taches-sol

We started by cleaning the tomato sauce, which was not completely dry. We launched the device in AUTO mode to check the effectiveness of the Tineco S7 Steam without steam mode. The test was conclusive: the device cleaned well in a few passes. However,we were unable to remove the dried tomato sauce stain, despite several attempts. The sauce residue did not disappear.

passage-1-test-tomate-seche

We turned on the steam mode to remove the stain, and in just 2 passes, the tomato sauce was completely gone. This first test on dry spots with steam is therefore rather conclusive.

We then tried to clean the agave syrup. If you've read our Dreame H12 Pro review, you've probably noticed how difficult it is to clean up spilled honey. This type of food is very sticky and stubborn. We put the Tineco S7 Steam to the test with the steam function to evaluate its effectiveness compared to AUTO mode.

Result:the agave syrup was completely cleaned in just 3 passes. Steam is very effective against sticky and resistant stains.

We then carried out the fateful test with dry black felt on the floor. If you have children, you will probably encounter this type of nonsense (although we don't wish it on you!).AUTO mode had no effect on the pen. The traces have barely faded despite a series of fierce passages. Given the difficulty of cleaning, we immediately launched the amplified steam mode.Despite several attempts, we were unable to overcome it. After about fifteen very slow passes over the surface, the felt has faded slightly but remains well and truly present on the floor.

To test the effectiveness of Tineco S7 Steam on the red stain lips dry, we immediately activated the steam mode. Cosmetic residue is very difficult to remove, and using AUTO mode would only spread the product further. Initially this is what happened with the steam mode, but after about ten passes the streaks started to fade. The photos below clearly show that the iLoop sensors spot dirt, indicated by the red light for embedded stains. After around twenty uses, the cosmetic product has completely disappeared. It wasn’t a win, but it’s a success!

To conclude this test, we can deduce that the Tineco S7 Steam is really effective in steam mode. However, we note a significantly reduced autonomy, with a battery level that is visibly discharging.

Tineco Floor One S7 Steam: Cleaning skirting boards and self-cleaning the device

We tested the ability of the S7 Steam to clean skirting boards. The test was carried out usingwet coffee grounds, placed near the edge of the walls. We made a pass on the right side of the vacuum head, then on the left side. For each side tested, we ran the entire length of the plinth.

The image below shows a disappointingresult, well below performance of theDreame H12 Pro or the Tineco S7 Pro.

resultat-nettoyage-bords

We finished the test by launching the self-cleaning of the Tineco S7 Steam. Before starting the operation, we emptied the dirty water tank to assess the level of dirt during cleaning and after the roller brush self-cleaned.The small grid sieve is very practical for retaining solid dirt, and it is easily removed for cleaning.

resultat-reservoir-s7-steam

We then dismantled the brush roller to check its condition. Unsurprisingly, the self-cleaning was not enough and the roller brush was still very dirty because of the lipstick. We took the opportunity toclean the brush roller manually, and see if it is easy to clean. After using a little dishwashing liquid to clean the brush roll, we discovered that it cleans without difficulty.

There are still some barely visible traces of lipstick, butle résultat est concluant.

Tineco S7 Steam: Our final note

Our opinion on the Tineco One Floor S7 Steam summary

After having thoroughly tested the Tineco S7 Steam on rather tough stains, we notea very efficient steam mode for removing dry stains. In just a few passes, the power of the steam was very effective against sticky and stubborn marks. We also note that the Tineco S7 is practical on smooth surfaces, butnot ideal for porous tiles.

The Tineco S7 Steam encountered some difficulties with dry black marker, despite several attempts with amplified steam mode. Likewise, performance on plinths with damp coffee grounds did not live up to expectations, following ourcomparison of the best vacuum cleaners.

Regarding autonomy, the cleaning time is very limited when used in steam mode| ||1173. En définitive, la vapeur ne doit être utilisée que partiellement, et il est préférable d’opter pour un vrai steam cleaner for which this is the main function.

The device's self-cleaning was found to be effective, but not enough to completely remove lipstick. However, we notefairly simple and quick manual cleaning of the roller brush.

To conclude, the Tineco S7 Steam offers satisfactory performance thanks to its steam mode. However, for truly effective maintenance and at a more attractive price, we recommend that you opt for theDreame H12 Pro.
